Isuzu Philippines New 2009 D-MAX Variants

There has never been a better time to buy a pickup than now. That’s because Isuzu Philippines Corp., assembler of world-class and award-winning diesel-powered vehicles, has just introduced two new variants of the D-MAX pickup for 2009. The pair of the new LS and the Boondock II now boast features previously only found on higher-end trims. The new features make the tough D-MAX stunning as well.

For the 2009 D-MAX LS, the following upgrades have been made: installation of new side stepboards with anti-slip rubber (only for the 4×2); change of door insert material from sports jersey to leatherette; change of seat material from sports jersey to black leather; switch to a more modern audio head unit (JVC KD G845); and addition of two-eye back-up sensors.

The Boondock II also has the same black leather seats, leatherette door inserts, audio head unit and back-up sensors. But it doesn’t stop there. The Boondock II now sports a new radiator grille design that further enhances the pickup’s stylish front end. It also rolls on new Yokohama Geolandar 265/70 R16 all-terrain tires for optimum grip on the most challenging of off-road surfaces combined with exceptional on-road performance.

“The D-MAX has always been a perfect pickup in terms of performance, fuel-efficiency, reliability and environment-friendliness,” said IPC President Keiji Takeda. “But that doesn’t stop us from continuing to find ways to make it a better product. From small to big features–as long as we know that they will benefit our customers–we will put them in the D-MAX.”

The D-MAX is powered by a 3.0-liter CRDi turbodiesel engine that is rated at 146 ps of maximum output and 294 Newton-meters of maximum torque. It also conforms to Euro-2 emission standards. This vaunted diesel powerplant is complemented by Isuzu’s critically acclaimed Flex Ride MOVE suspension system, which achieves a comfortable ride in spite of the vehicle’s pickup chassis.

The 2009 D-MAX is now also available with new body colors: Canyon Red and Granite Gray for the LS, and Light Blue Metallic/Sterling Silver for the Boondock II. The LS 4×2 and 4×4 are priced at P1,085,000 (manual transmission)/P1,145,000 (automatic transmission) and P1,315,000 (manual transmission), respectively, while the Boondock II 4×4 goes for P1,325,000 (manual transmission).
